Hydro-pneumatic fender, developed from traditional pneumatic fender, can be applied for submarine, semi-submerged ship which have underwater berthing requirement of STD or STS. Part of hydro-pneumatic fender is filled with water as counterweight to make the fender float in an upright position. When berthing, that the fender can help to keep the reaction force small can protect the ship hull well.
1. Fender Body
The fender body is shaped with cylinder in middle and ellipsoid at both ends,The wall thickness of the sphere is layered:the inner rubber layer, synthetic-tyre-cord layer and the outer rubber layer are sequentially distributed from the inside to the outside.
Inner rubber layer:
liner of a rubber membrane that seals the pressurized air inside the fender and maintains the internal air pressure.
Synthetic-tyre-cord layer for reinforcement:
layer made of synthetic-tyre-cord fabric.
Outer rubber layer:
rubber layer that covers the outside of the fender to protect the cord layers and the inner liner rubber from abrasio and other external forces.
Top flange is consist of fixed inside flange and air inflate devices.fixed inside flange fastens the outer assembles and air inflate hole.air inflate devices is made of valves body,air ball valve,water valve,safety valve,pressure testing valve and protection cover.
The bottom flange was embed the inner fender body,it was used for connect the counterweights through the bolt fixed the outer flange.
It was usually made by welded shell of steel plate and internal stuff filler structure model,that was based on the proportion of filled water in the fender body and the water depth.
