Absorci\u00f3n de impactos<\/strong><br>Sin defensas, un buque choca directamente contra el muelle, un contacto duro que puede da\u00f1ar f\u00e1cilmente ambas estructuras.<br>Las defensas cil\u00edndricas se deforman bajo presi\u00f3n, repartiendo la fuerza y reduciendo los picos de carga, lo que hace que el contacto sea mucho m\u00e1s seguro tanto para el buque como para el muelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Reducci\u00f3n de los da\u00f1os por fricci\u00f3n<\/strong><br>Las defensas cil\u00edndricas pueden rodar hasta cierto punto. Durante el atraque, los buques suelen necesitar peque\u00f1os ajustes de posici\u00f3n.
