Polyurethane Fender Structure

Foam fender is a structural form using foam material as fender. This structure usually consists of a foam core and an outer protective layer.

Foam core material refers to the foam material filled inside the fender. Common materials include polyethylene foam, polyurethane foam, etc. Foam materials are lightweight, have good energy absorption and buoyancy, and can effectively reduce the impact of ship collisions and provide buoyancy support.

The external protective layer is a layer covering the surface of the foam core. Common materials include polyurethane leather, fiberglass, etc. The outer protective layer protects the foam core from external environmental erosion and physical damage, while also increasing the strength and durability of the fender.

Foam fender structure has the following advantages:

  1. Lightweight: Foam materials are lighter than traditional metal fender materials, which can reduce the weight of the ship and improve load-carrying capacity and fuel efficiency.
  2. Energy absorption: Foam materials have good energy absorption, can absorb and disperse impact forces, and reduce collision damage to the hull.
  3. Anti-corrosion: Foam materials are not susceptible to seawater erosion and can effectively extend the service life of the fender.
  4. Easy to install and maintain: The foam fender has a relatively simple structure and is easy to install and maintain.
Foam fender structures are widely used in water engineering fields such as ships, docks, and pontoons, and can provide good protection and safety performance. However, it should be noted that the foam fender structure needs to take into account different environmental conditions, ship types and usage requirements during the design and installation process to ensure its stability and reliability.
