In recent years, a new type of spraying polyurethane (polyurea) technology has been invented by NANHAI to make the surface of the foam filled fender anti-corrosive and scratch-resistant. It can adapt to various harsh weather environments, reducing the resultant force acted upon the wharf/vessel at the point of contact.
Safety and Reliability
The foam fender core uses memory foam with high compressive strength, allowing it to absorb a large amount of energy during marine operations. The closed-cell structure of the foam means the fender will not sink and can keep working, even if it's badly damaged and beyond repair. Its low reaction force also makes berthing easier, especially in harsh conditions.
The polyurethane outer skin of the foam fender is reinforced with nylon cord layers, which improve its toughness. This makes the fender resistant to harsh weather, impacts, seawater, and UV rays, without leaving marks on light-colored hulls.
Customized Floating Foam Fenders
NANHAI foam fenders density ranges from 30 kg/m ³ to 130 kg/m ³.Since the production of foam-filled fenders does not require special molds, it offers greater flexibility—almost any size and configuration can be made.
Depending on the use and application, the fenders can be installed using either a two-point or four-point mounting system. The standard colors are black and orange, but we are happy to offer custom colors upon request.
Parts can be replaced individually
Our floating foam fenders also have a simple yet unique internal structure, which allows the shear loads to be absorbed by a through-chain arrangement terminating in end-shackles rather than the body of the fender itself. This has been engineered so that in the event of overload, any damaged components of this system can be replaced in isolation – as opposed to other floating foam fenders where the end-fittings form an integral part of the internal workings of the fender and which, if damaged by shear forces, can lead to the fender being written off.
